Plenty of reaction today on the latest numbers from the Russian ministry of finance. Oil and gas revenue down 63% on 2021. Huge deficit posted, forecast to be over 30 billion roubles by year end, even allowing for anomalous increase reported in other revenue. Something has to give.

I forgot to post an update about the oil situation was an interesting read if true will try find it.

From "The Analyst":

RUSSIA CUTS OIL PRODUCTION AGAIN

Russia has reduced exports and drilling by another 50,000bpd. That brings the loss in income this year to -$74 billion.
Saudi Arabia and Russia have tried to undermine the production totals to keep the price up. However the whole attempt to manipulate the market has fallen flat. Prices continue to fall despite the reductions.
Why? Iran and Venezuela have managed to increase production and even though they are OPEC+ members they’re not paying attention to limits as they need the money so badly.
Bigger still, is the US, rather than the predicted 12mbpd is producing 13.3mbpd on fewer wells because there’s been some major efficiency increases that just didn’t exist before.
Russian revenue and currency issues mean that every cut bites harder and they have increasing problems at the refineries and shipping is increasingly difficult.
The permanent cuts are also pretty much that. This isn’t a cut that can in three years just be reversed. It’s expensive and difficult to return these wells to use and Russia has neither the money or the expertise and technology to make it happen.
