Russian invasion of Ukraine

Read this article earlier. It’s on Europe to try and finish the job, at least to the point where Russian aggression can be materially contained for the next generation. It means ensuring a necessary level of financial pain though, which might not be on the agenda, lamentably. As a continent, we’ll only have ourselves to blame if we don’t and will confirm Putin’s view that ultimately we are decadent and effete when it comes to defending our (vastly superior) way of life.
I've said this before in the thread.
It's not in the world's interest for
ruSSia to collapse as some radical nutters could get hold of nukes, or sell them to a rogue state (NK. Iran)
I believe the West just wants the Ukrainians to keep grinding away until it forces Putin to the table in a position of weakness
If the West wanted, a conventional war could be won by the middle of 2025, but what the landscape of ruSSia's government would be like if that happened I have no idea

Said it several times on here, the UK and EU should deport all Russians back to their own country. I suspect there are lots of wealthy and powerful people still living it up in the West and by doing this I believe it would put alot of pressure on Putin and he would be closer to being removed. His hold is more tenuous than we most believe, that criminal Pergozvin got close to Moscow with his rag tag rebellion last year.

Yes, I think the twin aspirations of avoiding significant escalation and not causing Russia to collapse have both been a material factor in shaping strategy, along with the overarching aim of degrading Russian military capability - all of which have succeeded tbf.

I don't think European leaders have enough will to win this war. This game has entered garbage time. Russian army will slowly advance to the Dnieper River. This river will become a new ceasefire line.

'We need peace through strength, not appeasement' —
Ukraine's FM reacts to last night's Russian mass attack
(120 missiles and 90 drones).

"This is war criminal Putin’s true response to all those who called and visited him recently," Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said on Nov. 17.

Whereas you do have seemingly unshakeable confidence in your own opinions, invariably stated as fact without any support.
unshakeable? I don't think so. I often change my opinion.

Do you have confidence in your own opinions?
If you don't have confidence, then they won't become your opinions, right?
