It is a widely held belief in much pro-Russian discourse that they are fighting foreign NATO forces with very few Ukrainians and that it is the UK who is directing this war - apparently we run the world, who knew.

That this is all very much a Ukrainian effort is something the Russians cannot accept.

Without cast iron guarantees to Ukraines future security there isn't a chance.

Yes because they can’t get it into their brainwashed minds that Ukrainians don’t want to be part of their sinfully shit, small-time country.

Surprised the **** didn’t refer to the ‘root causes’ but either way the notion that his demands will in any way be reasonable is the stuff of pure fantasy so it’s completely academic at this stage.

Interesting he said it though. Wonder if the **** has woken up to the reality on the battlefield yet. Think he was pinning a lot on the spring offensive, which is (marginally) turning into a spring defensive.

Absolutely incredible what Ukraine has done: guts, determination and ingenuity. The rest of Europe owes them a huge debt.

After the initial onslaught in Ukraine solely due to sheer numbers, Ukraine have fought back and shown Russia to be weak in the eye of the rest of the world.

Not sure many will see Russia as a major threat for many years to come.
