WWIII then - started by capitalists. Looks like we'll be getting a socialist world quicker than we thought.

"Ok we've tried the war on terror, but the people saw through it. Followed by Global warming likewise. Now the world economy is is freefall due to vulture capitalism. How do we stop people revolting?"

"The Russians have invaded Georgia sir."

" I think we've found our distraction...."

Sounds about right Mat.

Stalin was from Georgia yet he tried to kill the conuty off by starving them to death.

The Russians are just flexing their muscles. They are tired of being weak for 2 decades and are seeking attention.

the americans tried too kill everyone and so far they are winning

In fairness, and whilst not condoning the heavy-handed response from Putin,to view this purely as suppressing Georgian independance is to grossly over-simplify the issue.
South Ossetia is one one of the most ethnically diverse regions of the former Soviet Union, with 50 ethnic groups, speaking 30 mutually-incomprehensible languages, with cultural heritages going back to the Persian and Ottoman,(Turkish),and even Byzantine empires.
The Ossetian republic only came under the Soviet umbrella in the 1900's after a series of violent clashes with State forces, and historically have never considered themselves as part of "Russia";(to the point of issuing their own currency and even passports).
Stalin,(who's own father was Ossetian),pronounced the region to be "ungovernable",given the multitude of conflicting factions and lack of an identifiable powerbase.
Putin, sadly,is seizing the current unrest as an excuse to stifle opposition in the region,(not always,as often reported,pro-western),and impose centralist rule.
Having spent time studying in Tbilisi in the past and still having friends in the Kareli/Gori region,it grieves me to see the scenes of loss of life and displacement of Ossetians that Putins'overreaction has caused.
