Ryder Cup 2023

Nick Faldo, great golfer, irritating as fuck commentator
I like him. People will say he likes the sound of his own voice but usually those people are made for commentary. There’s a serious lack of them in football right now and it’s a problem so I’d be careful what you wish for.

I only watch The Open and the Ryder Cup these days. I used to be right into golf, but I've fallen out with the professional game.
Part of the challenge of golf is the elements, along with the obstacles put up on the course.
I'm only interested in tournaments that can see inclement weather affecting play. Its all blue skies and pretty scenery.
I knew things were going wrong when commentators starting saying that "he'd have preferred that to go in the bunker for a better lie" ffs, these hazards are there to penalise sloppy play, not help it.
Sanitized and boring. No wonder golf is on its arse.

Again, can someone explain to a neophyte? I can see that there's a lot of blue on the board, and that certain players are one up, or two up against their opponent (I take it that this means they've played one fewer shots, etc. to hole out; I presume A/S means All Square). What do we now have to do to get some of those four points?

What indicator are you using to suggest that golf is on its ass?
