Imo once a team hits the 14.5 point mark, all still ongoing matches should simply default to halved matches. Then they can all get pissed up together on the 18th green.

There is nothing worse than your team and supporters celebrating while you have to finish the pointless round in silence, both players would rather be somewhere else.chances are plenty are gonna have quite a few holes to play.

Scheff seems sound as well. Bryson and Bradley are the only ones I dislike. The team overall seem pretty grounded.

With regards to the fans the only thing that annoys me is the nasty shit and the unwillingness of the authorities to remove them. In fairness to a lot of the american supporters they have given some stick to the worst culprits.

When you visit America though you do realise they are just louder in a lot of places, it's a culture thing. I've always found them decent and well mannered.

Sports and politics can bring out the worst in all of us.

Proud of the European players it's hard to win it away which barring an unmitigated disaster should now happen.

Some Guiness will be getting supped tonight :-)

Can someone just clarify for me? (I know almost nothing about golf, beyond the fact that there are the four majors. And the Americans seem to snaffle at least a couple of them every year. I only played the once, decades back, on a course out near Congleton, I think and it took me and my girlfriend more than a hundred shots to do nine holes, I think.)
Is it not still technically possible for the Americans to win this? Just think how utterly devastating that would be. As a player on the European team, you'd never, ever get over it. Is it in fact possible, even if it's as near as nothing a done deal?
