Saint David Moyes

I don't have a problem with Moyes. If I was him I wouldn't sell one of the best players I have to someone who could be deemed a problem to what I aim to achieve.

However my bin dipping friends if you think that in the long term Everton is a better option than City then you are deluded. Everton have hit their peak. They aren't going to be a long term challenger to the top 4 because they can't get (afford) the players to maintain that challenge. I have respect what Everton have done over the last few seasons achieving better than teams like Villa, Spurs and us with less investment.

City on the other hand are going to challenge at the very top. It may not be this season or even next season but with the owners and backing we have it is inevitable.

You mean like selling "the white Pele" at £30 million?
Or does he just have a "special realtionship" with the rags?

Every player has a price-and I don't for one minute blame Moyes for trying to hold onto Lescott.
But in trying to paint himself as some kind of "righteouss saviour" against the City bully-boys is hypocritical to say the least.

What a sanctimonious prat this guy is. All you hear from him is how right and proper he conducts his business, how he shows respect to other clubs. Well City offered 15 million for Lescott which most pundits thought was a fair offer and this was rejected by Everton...no problem there. Another offer of 18 million followed which was rejected and it is rumoured that City are prepared to make an over the top offer of 22 million for the player who, in fact, does want to leave Everton. This is good business on Everton's part, you might say, as City are the only team who would ever dream of paying such a high price for Lescott. But NO.... this is still not enough for the self righteous one Saint David who now says he wants 30 million for the player.

Talk about trying to screw the world's richest club for every penny and spouting morality and respect at the same time. Is this the type of behaviour that they taught him in the Vatican....as one has to assume by his sermons emanating from Mount Goodison...that he has spent some time studying there. Perhaps he has threatened Lescott with eternal damnation in the fires of hell if he tries to go against his wishes.

I suggest that the total hypocrite goes straight to the confessional box at his local church this weekend to confess his sins and then sells Lescott to City for a fair price. Then, and only then, will he be able to walk back on the road to righteousness and be welcomed back into the Vatican fold.

Can I just say that you people don't seem to understand Moyes' motivation here.

He simply is not selling Lescott to Man City. Everton aren't holding out for more money - that was a comment made by Hughes. Everton simply aren't selling the player to your club, and by all accounts, the player himself is happy to stay.

Everton do conduct their business properly, and don't use the media to put pressure on any club to sell them a player, like Man City have done this summer. It's you who is a sanctimonious prat. Actually, you're just an idiot.

Lescott is in a better team and will play in Europe this year. Why should he mess up his chances for next years World Cup just to join a bunch of mercenaries.

Maybe his motivation is a bit more than how much money he earns.

The same way Moyes said Rooney wasnt for sale and then when United upped theiur bid Moyes sold him! Whats the difference?

The same way City have sue'd newspapers for priting made up bollocks about us and are looking into doing it again with the Moyes saga!? The same way Moyes has openly said he wants to sign Senderos when Hughes has said; "i think Jolean LEscott is a very talented player but he is an Everton player and i dont think its right that we talk about him until other wise!"

Pull the other one fella! Moyes has played the media - a media who is loving hating City - and everyone has fallen for it!

City were in the same boat as Everton when we sold SWP to Chelsea! Did you hear Stuart Pearce being a big fucking baby like Moyes? NO! Did you hear City fans being big fuicking babies like Toffees? NO!

I know this is a topic on Everton, but Im starting to find it hard (not only on this topic but elsewhere) to pick out the fans of opposing clubs not only Everton. Does anyone else think we should have a "supporter of...." under our names. Obviously the majority of them will be City but surely its not just me that is struggling to see which posts are bias, provocative, balanced or argumentative?

As for the topic, we all know as soon as a bigger club come calling for him he wont hang around long at Everton.

What a strange comment. City have never released anything to the press. I think if you actually took the time to look you would see that it was Everton who released this information. Much like it was AC Milan (Kaka) and Chelsea (Terry) who released the information about the bids.

If you think Everton do their business properly, then why was Moyes tapping up Senderos on SkySports News the other day? Not quite as clean as I guess you would like?

Nail on head.

He's acting like the purple faced alkie in the hope that when Taggart leaves he'll drop blue scouse and go crawling up the M62 to Stretford.
