Wonderful to be there tonight and see so many young blues. Reminded me of the Platt lane 55 years ago.

And to thrash the class of 92 will be a great first memory for many of them.

Dropped my brother off after the game and he lives very close to Salford's stadium. As we drove past it, we had a quick chorus of "Gary Neville, is a wanker, is a wanker" and "You're fucking shit".

Enjoyed that. Proper weird lineup, personally I'd have liked to have seen a more familiar setup with players in their natural position, feel like players would have got more from that and get nothing but a confidence boost from the mishmash lineup but nothing trumps having the class 92 suffer a humiliation and it was certainly that. Shame it wasn't 10. Hope the Neville chants was heard loud and clear on the TV, no idea which of the rag owners were there to witness it, if there's one disappointment from today it was they didn't show whoever was there up on the big screen so we could have directed the songs to them.

Enjoyed and appreciated the desire to keep on going, I was sure we would play keep ball at around 5 and let them off the hook. Salford "fans" surprised me with the lack of united songs, was still some but I thought it would be a non-stop flood of them once the game was done.

A thoroughly enjoyable game and united will go out tomorrow to make it a little bit sweeter. Happy days.

O’Reilly was superb there tonight. He glided past players with ease.

Mubama was far better than I was expecting. He had good movement, strength and put himself about really well. His movement was infectious to others too.

Thought McAtee was pretty poor for an hour, but then superb for the last 30 mins.

Haaland could do worse that watch McAtee’s movement when he scored Doku’s cross.

Doku destroyed their right back. He’ll need counselling for a while after that.

Simpson-Pusey impressed quietly and efficiently too.



Salford were beyond shit though.

All in all, a gr8 day out.

Some good performances against poor opposition. But credit where it’s due, to score 8 against any professional team, whilst making so many changes in both personnel and their positions and keep a clean sheet is a fucking good day.
