Salford City (H) | Post Match Thread

Strange that the bbc coverage was so respectful to City. There was the usual bollocks of wanting the little team to beat the big boys, but no comparisons of wages or bench costs (they did intl caps instead)

Smurphy was very complimentary about all City goals especially the early ones, no real poison.

It was strange, just not used to that.

Not a dog but didn’t Elton John sit on the bench at Watford? Salford have been hijacked for a vanity project by the chuckle brothers and family man Ryan. Why did the manager have a jacket on with 92 written on it? It’s a shameless marketing stunt to sell tat to rags who think top level football isn’t good anymore as their team is shit.

During the game Danny Murphy said that teams at a lower level against better teams should be allowed more leeway. Or words to that effect.
Rules are rules and lower level teams haven't the right to play to different rules than the pl side lol.
He also said it was such a shame for the Salford captain as he played well ? What would be a success for Salford? Hurt but not humiliated? City have a bench full of internationals......I should've muted the comms really

How does that work? Giggs sat next to the manager, Manager gives the sub instructions before coming on, then Giggs stands up and gives him different points? Maybe he was giving him relationship guidance.

I presume when things go wrong it's the managers fault and when it goes right .....
If they would have got a scrappy 0-1 win, I know what the headline would have been.
The reason Giggs was on the touchline was so that the players could see him.
Otherwise they would have spent the match worrying about him shagging/battering their wives.
They didn't have to worry about a forced abortion as those clinics close at 4pm on a Saturday.

Cracking day out Gromit.

First half a bit meh. Much more enjoyable 2nd half. Loads leaving when the 7th went in. 80 minuters didn't disappoint. Great taking the piss out of the crass of '92.

KO time was bang on. Travel up was stress free and quicker. The same for getting home.

It's nice to see someone took note and closed the road walking back the town centre. So much easier.

Onwards to the 4th round and someone shit at home please.

Is a wanker, is a wanker!

Posters to BBC decided (a bit late in the day) that the BBC had no right to televise such a one sided slaughter and that the Gooners v Rags was the match they should cover (surprise surprise!). I want to offer an alternative view. I thought yesterday's was a great view, especially those shots of the class of 92 wriggling and squirming in their overcoats. Todays match ... Well, when the draw was made, I thought, "Great! One of the ******* will go out!" Now, I think it's rubbish. One of the two most obnoxious clubs in world football will still be in the hat."

The whole salford fc gig is just a huge ego trip for the class of 92 (heave).

Imagine being one of the 300 original fans and have your team turned into a mini united, kit changed to mini united colours the lot

Definition of selling your soul
Most of Salford's old and new fans are United fans. Of all greater Manchester I reckon Salford is the most bias toward United support. In my school year at my secondary school in Salford of the 150 pupils I could count the number of city fans on one hand. This was 1972 to 1977. And living in Salford all my life can't say things have changed that much. I must admit though I see a lot more City shirts being worn around the City these days, maybe things are changing for the better.

Narcissistic gaslighting Giggs sees an opportunity to raise his own status by hijacking the limelight yesterday, possibly undermining a very experienced manager.
It always seems to be about him.
Worked out well for the whingeing Welsh Weasel.
Although that Carl Robinson is an overweight, obese, obnoxious oaf...
