Times reporting that Arsenal turned down opportunity to buy Kalou in bargain deal.

Only 26. Quality player who's experienced in Europe and the Premiership. We don't have back up for our strikers, and he could do a job.

Our starting 11 is strong, but strength in depth is an issue.

In the short term we will get some respite after going out of the FA Cup, but if we want to win the Europa League we will have to handle another batch of weekend / midweek games. At these times you need luck with injuries, suspensions and the draws and we didn't get it with Utd/Liverpool.
 
He's appalling, he single-handedly lost a game for Chelsea earlier this season. Chelsea fans are glad to see the back of him. We have a better 4th striker already at the club, even Silva would be better up front.
 
wouldn't talk too much about Kalou, it's opinion based, though I think he was quality squad player for Chelsea for years...

but some of you need reality check, the big one. If you think we'd be able to find a top quality striker (Cavani for ex.) who would come and rotate with other 3 we have and that they would all be happy in such situation, then you're out of your minds..

Only players like Kalou or some very young strikers would come in this situation and even young ones want to play regularly nowadays. I know we can recall Guidetti on summer but wouldn't mind Kalou and anyone from his class to fill the lack of strikers we currently have. Won't happen probably but Kalou on loan for ex. or in some cheap deal would be pretty good stuff IMO. I've never heard him having issues sitting on the bench in Chelsea and he scored quite a few goals when he would get a chance.

Is he a striker though?
 
Not classic striker but Ronaldo is not too but he is more than often called as one.

When we play with 2 strikers, often one of Dzeko/Balotelli goes on left where Kalou operates so he could be used for that.

When he was at Feyenoord he used to score as much as 20 goals per season while in Chelsea he's on average of 7 per year (10 in last season). Solid number of goals for player who mainly comes from the bench.

If we were gonna get anyone back I'd have Sturridge! There must be part of him that wants to play for the team that he was with through his upbringing. He'd be a quality rotation striker too.
