Same Old Boring Chants/songs

Trouble with these songs with 2 or 3 lines, they die of death quickly and it sounds crap and cringeworthy. Bluemoon would sound so much better with another verse. Will someone PLEASE think of a second verse. I've tried many times but they all sound corny.

I reckon a song should be made to go with The Music Man, and each verse should relate to a player or something about the team.

We already have Elano for the piano part.

It could go on for ages.
 
hate to be negative- but it's also realistic to suggest you're on a hiding to nothing posting songs on here. i've posted on (rather relentlessly!) which got a really good response but also got the usual mindless slagging off from people on here who can't simply say they don't like it, but have to go overboard and perform a character assasination of anyone they don't agree with. which pisses me right off coz, good bad or indifferent all i (or anyone else who suggests a song) want to do is help improve the atmosphere and then everyone benefits. but it's obvioulsy a lot cooler and funnier to shoot down those who post in good faith. like i said...mindless.

i'm not a 'starter of chants' but loads of people said they'd get it going- a few tried valiantly and it was posted on you tube- but to no avail.

not just talking about mine coz i've seen loads of other great songs on here that have never materialised. don't know what it is but we just never seem to able to stray too far from our limited repertoire.

been loads of threads like this- and so there should be coz we're in dire need of new songs- but nothing ever seems to come from them. where are all these big mouths that keep saying they'll get new songs going and then on matchday you hear nowt but the same old same old?

that's my song that i was referring to in my last post liamctid!! like i say it got a good response but some of the shit thrown at me made me think 'why fucking bother'. ;)

Well I can tell you that it was sang on the day after the Schalke game in a Irish Pub in Dusseldorf. You'd be surprised how well its known.

i've heard it knocking around but never at a game. the criticisms were it's too gay?? presumably coz it mentions the word chest. and it's like the torres song so not original. which is a laughable criticism seeing as virtually every song you hear at matches is a tune used by some other team- and give the sorry state of singing at recent city games i'd say beggars can't be choosers, and unless people are prepared to come up with and implement their own efforts they shouldn't slag off others.

anyway, i just wish the songs/atmosphere from pre & post match could be transferred to the actual match--where it matters most!!

Definatly agree with you mate. We need to get a song where we bounce!

I'd be all up for starting new songs and stuff but I don't sit in a singing area!

I think it'd sound better as Na-na-na-naaaaaa-na-na-na instead of whoa-ing.

I thill think the Naaaa-Naaa-naa-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-CITY! is a great one - the opposition dont hear it coming.
