Samir Nasri just went there for the money, total sellout just like half the Man city team, cant wait for them to be booted out of football when the new financial rules are used. Lets see how many trophies your team can win when they are out of every competition.
Bye now dickhead. (Oh and underlining your post doesn't make it better).

As the song goes "You've had your day out now f**k off home" sadcafe is that way ------> EXIT

I'm not usually in favour of bans from mods - everyone entitled to their opinions and all that - unless the post is really OTT, personal abuse and so on.

But I must say, as sackings go, this one was damn satisfying.

:-)

Another dog shit ineffectual performance last night.

They are starting to accumulate and I don't think we should be afraid to criticise consistently bad performances.

Especially one from a player who needs absolutely no settling in period with regards the English game and was a Player of the Year candidate less than a year ago.

I'm struggling to find the right analogy, and for me, at this stage, the lights are on, but there is absolutely nobody at home.

He's vacant, simply going through the motions. I still retain hope he will come to the fore before the end of the season, but his character so far doesn't suggest he is one to take responsibility when the situation requires.

Funnily enough, a trait also found in the Arsenal team since Vieira and Henry left.

Plenty goes wrong for players during matches, over a period of time, even.

But standing on the fringes is not going to reverse the situation.

I'm not one for stats, in a seemingly popular thirst for them these days, I look with my eyes.

How did you rate Lescot after his first 10 games?
every player is not the same.....just because a player people didnt rate early on came good doesnt mean every single one will. How did it work out for people who started to criticise Adebayor after 6-7 games? When a player join a new club, thats when they usually are up for it to show everyone how good they are. Then when players are there 3-4 years, some become lazy and take things for granted. For a new player he has shown so little fight and work rate. Thats something you cant say about Millner.....he run his socks off

Sorry Hairdoo I and probably many others would rate Lescot far higher right now than you do. apart from his performances for City he was one of the main reasons England beat Spain recently. And yet a large number of City fans would have been glad to see the back of him after his first games. The fee was Hughes's problem not something to beat Lescot with and he did have competition for the place. In fact he lost it to several players due to his poor form and only got back in as a result of injuries but has not looked back since.

You're missing my point bud.

I'm not saying Lescott is a bad player, he's actually been better than Kompany over a period of time now.

He lost his place in the City team to cheaper and inferior players, hence, any upturn in form, allied to his cost, sees him go right back in.

I would be surprised if you got anywhere near a clear consensus that Lescott will be the answer in the immediate years.

Lescott never stopped trying to impose himself or his talent, even when he couldn't pass wind, and a drawn-out sage with Everton.

My point being, Nasri, seems content to coast and in this team, and with this manager, he will be found out very quickly.

People had a go at Milner, albeit, he had a magnificent game against Liverpool early on, and continued to work for the team.
I think Nasri's game against Spurs was better than Milner's against Liverpool. It is relatively rare that a new player to a squad finds their feet immediately. Silva is the main exception at City who looked class from the start, though even he has improved. Their have been huge improvements from the likes of Milner, Barry, De Jong, Yaya, Ballotelli Dzeko etc.
Neither Aguero nor Nasri look fully integrated to me as yet but both have shown some very promising bits. I think it is way to early to start criticising a player who had no chance to get a proper pre season with us.

Recent signings who have been written off on this forum include:

Dzeko
Tevez
Barry
de Jong
Milner
Mario
Kolarov
Silva
Yaya Toure
Johnson

I'm really not sure how people can criticise Nasri. Okay, he's not set the world alight and he's a bit short of form at the moment. But we are top of the league and he has certainly played his part in that.

Can I just ask why Nasri doesn't need time to settle?

Not sure I'm with you there. Silva's debut IIRC was Joe Hart's wonder game 0-0 at Spurs - Silva was pretty anonymous, even though we very quickly became aware of what a special player he was. (For me, the real 'road to Damascus' moment was probably his goal away at Blackpool).

Nasri was undoubted class at Spurs, but also made a decisive impact when he came on against Wigan - we moved up a gear when he came on, and his combination play with Silva got me very very excited.

Since then he hasn't hit the same heights, but one thing about RM is that he seems to have the knack of knowing which players he can get the best out of, and which he can't - which I suspect is why Boateng, Bellamy, Adebayor, Ireland etc are no longer part of the club, and Milner, Lescott, Richards and so on go from strength to strength.

My problem with him so far his that he doesn't seem to take enough responsibility in games where he is one of the most senior player, like last night. When he seemed willing to accept being substituted last night after 30 minutes worried me and brought up serious questions about his character

I appreciate what people have said about Milner and Lescott but they never appeared to go through the motions in games and when they've had the opportunity they have appeared to try their best to take it

Nasri, on the whole appears to let games pass him bye

Looks a bit of a fairy to me.......................needs a bit of a slap and man-ing up!

Laughable....simply laughable!

And we are supposed to be the 'bitter' ones!

Trot off now and enjoy playing second fiddle in the City, for a very long time!
