Samir Nasri - Silver Lining

Re: Opinions on Nasri

I think its one of those, If the lad worked his bollocks off and it doesnt work out for him then you say "fair enough" (Like Darius Vassell I loved the bloke but he was shite)

I see your point Lancet but to be brutally honest I couldn't care less about how he looked at arsenal or his potential. He's a grown man so the potential should be realised by now and he plays for city not arsenal. He, like one or two others (Dzeko, Kolarov) simply aren't good enough for the level we are looking to be at IMHO.

You have to leave Dzeko out of this. And to put him in the same parentheses as Kolorov is ridiculous. Dzeko is clearly a top striker who, maybe like Nasri, is struggling with not player 90 minutes in every game.

"Dzeko is clearly a top striker" - absolutely incorrect IMHO mate. How many games has this 'top striker' gone without scoring or without even looking like scoring?

How long did Shrek go without scoring or even looking like scoring? Nearly a year wasn't it? You'll also be saying that Torres was never any good I guess.

Nasri is class ,thats all we need to know really .His vision and distribution was different league last night.

Nasri has been here half a season! Give the guy a break, he clearly has it all we just need to be patience.

Game changed in our favor with his introduction last night, needs more time in the role and I think he'll get the nod vs Wigan with Silva only risked if needed.
We need him upto speed incase some idiot takes Silva out for the season.

I thought that in parts last night Nasri looked excellent.

I really think with Nasri he needs to play more.

For me he is clearly a confidence and continuity player who needs to play week in week out.

I'd rather have him starting that Johnson at the moment to be fair.

IMO......

No, he didn't look 'excellent' - i for one will be looking for a little bit more than the average that he actually was. It just goes to show how dreadful hes been so far that ordinary gets viewed in such a skew-wiff way.

Agree. I know he's a top player and things aren't going for him, but it's more frustrating when he's shitting out of tackles, as opposed to Milner last season for example who hadn't fully settled in but was still putting a shift in.

There was a moment when, Aguero cut inside to get tackled by Johnson, when Nasri bust a gut to get in the area but Aguero didn't spot.

Game changed as soon as Nasri came on, wasn't the perfect performance but very encouraging.
