Samir Nasri

11 used to be kolarov, now vacant. Gundogan took 8 when Samir left for Sevilla. He has no squad number on the OS. Seems to be pretty involved in tour media for a player in the shop window. Scratching my head over this. He must have more lives than a cat if he's back in.
Think it's impossible, considering the acquisition of B.Silva and Foden's emergence. Can't waste another foreign spot on a benchwarmer with a huge salary. Nasri could be very useful last season, but he chose his fate himself.

Foden will not be played this year if he does will be only in the league cup he's not ready yet same goes for all our academy players.

Be interesting to know what this was about...

CH‏ @gethughestoit
Khaldoon and Nasri having a VERY animated conversation btw. Looked intense and lasted almost 5 minutes. Has to be about that leak...

No chance this has anything to do with the leak, that would be delt with behind closed doors not out in the open in front of the cameras, just wouldn't happen.

Even if you leave aside the incidents that raise question marks around him (his lack of fitness last summer, the Drip Doctors nonsense, the stupid incident with the salute, this supposed leak about his arrogance) Why would we keep someone that did press conferences last year saying: “Guardiola wanted me at City, but I chose to play elsewhere?”

We want a squad of world class players, an unbreakable unit, who will fight for the the manager until the last breath of every game. A situation where the best players players may turn down Real, Bayern or Barcelona to play for City & Pep.This has been the plan since 2008, and it’s just starting to reach its peak.

What kind of signal does it send when one player puts himself ahead of the squad, it doesn't work out, then is welcomed back into the team? Doesn’t make sense, I'm afraid.

Nasri was a great player on his day, who scored some crucial goals, and gave us some great performance in big games. But short of a Yaya-style climbdown and a complete change of attitude, he has to go, unfortunately.
Very well put, goods post, but it's for Pep to mull over.

Can Nasri pass the Pep Test :
In Pep's own words " I want each of my players to be a good teammate-this is the most important quality. I like a player who thinks about himself but also about the group and Manchester City."
IMO that's why Hart sadly had to go
CTID
Quite right too, but Pep has this thing about player's who don't give the ball away, can be creative, and control game's. This might be a surprise as to what happens.

IMO Pep sees Sanchez and Nasri as direct competitors (more than Aguero v Sanchez). So if we don't get Sanchez then Nasri will stay. And that's fine by me.

It's funny how so many people on here lapped up all the crap in the media about Nasri just as they did about Yaya in the past and at the same time can't fathom criticism of certain favorites. IMO they are all the same - more or less. Highly talented professionals with their own unique personalities. None are saints and none villains ( dread thinking back to The Barton Era).

Any hoot we'll see what happens in a few weeks.

That's the the problem with Nasri IMO, he doesn't, he's a bit of a shit house, no lesser shown with "that freekick", take one for the team!!

Kin ell, I even jumped defending a free kick in a Sunday league match on turn Moss and took it full in the face, sending me sprawling.

He can't even put a tackle in, though he does have good ball retention.

The problem with Nasri is his inconsistency and tendency to be a knob! No one doubted his ability, he can be as good as Silva on his day, but Silva is a solid professional where as Nasri is guaranteed to act like a cock at some point. I don't care how good he was, get rid. We have plenty of attacking midfield and creative players. He can do one!

You don't need tackling on your CV these days.

I think this is the most ridiculous comment I've read in ten years of Bluemoon. "As good as Silva". Jesus Wept.

Don't tell me...that "day" being the one when he scored against Chelsea.

Forget this "poor attitude" groupthink cliche you've all adopted from each other.

He's. Not. Good. Enough.

Nowhere fucking near. If you think Pep wants some "attacking" midfielder who's sole contribution is to trap the ball, look up and give it back to his centre half then you haven't been watching.

Where''ve you been DD? Missed your comments. Not sure you were entirely fair there with Gaudion M mind. He did say on his day

Agree about Silva but the rest of your post is mainly bollocks.

I don't know what Pep wants or doesn't want from an AM but I do know that there is a lot more to Nasri's game than your silly assessment.

Nasri is talented but his workrate is inconsistent and he can be disruptively moody which can upset the atmosphere in the camp.
Personally I would rather work with a smaller flexible group with the right attitude than a larger number that have a suspect attitude.

Nastiest is now 30 and Pep is looking to the future not the past. In the case of David Silva his attitude, his skill, his performances all show that it would be madness, unthinkable madness, to try and argue that he does not remain a vital and crucial member of the team, squad and future. Samir, on the other hand, has never been consistent at anything like David's level, returned to training after a serious injury overweight and appeared to accept a loan deal in an impetuous fit of pique at Pep. There's not a lot there to convince Pep that Samir should figure in the future. Especially when you look at the midfielders we do have.

Not sure what your point is. I clearly said on his day which is way back when we used to get decent performance out of him and at times he has been our best player even when Silva has been on the same pitch, but I'm taking about his best ever form rather than anything else, the rest of my post was slagging him off and saying we should get rid - how is that ridiculous?
