Samir Nasri

Yaya's goal is the better for me, also. It came at a time when City weren't playing particularly well and a goal down. It was a stunning strike, then closely followed by Nasri's beautiful effort.

At first, I couldn’t actually believe that Yaya's had gone in.

We were in the fifth tier square on to that goal and it seemed to me that the ball was going over, but at the last second, it dropped enough to go under the bar.

As you say, a stunning effort.

I had to make do with watching at home.

As for Yaya's goal; it was simply stunning. When he hit it, I thought he was just floating it to the back post in an attempt to cause panic in Sunderland's defence ( I thought we were fairly struggling to create at the time) to see it sail into the back of the net was quite surreal. It didn't look, the way he causally stroked it, that it could result in such a nonchalant, yet wonderful effort.

Nasri's goal was excellent (the other camera angle from directly behind him is the really great one where you see how he cuts across it and it starts so far outside the post) but Yaya's....everything about that goal is incredible. Its so casual, but its so technically perfect.

The best long distance goal I've ever seen.

Some had the audacity to say it was meant as a cross.... have to agree, this was peak yaya, who for me was unparalleled in Europe at the time....

I don't mean to be the bearer of bad news but the Nasri goal vs Sunderland was deflected. The last replay shows this if you look closely enough.

Fantastic strike though nonetheless.

I was sat in the same place, I actually stood up to bollock him for wasting an opportunity, next thing I know it's in!!!

Remarkable game! Not least because Navas actually scored a goal for us! Think it was his last!

I really enjoyed that final. Sunderland fans were all over the place in London the night before. Covent Garden and Leicester Square tunes were closed due to their fans having a meet up.
