Santa Cruz

Absolutly not he's yet another one season wonder vastly over priced. Wouldn't touch him with a barge pole

have a feeling we'll see an undisclosed fee signing today for rsc, think hughes will give in but try not to let the fee out.

He is very similar to Corradi only a lot dearer, one season wonder. Bayern couldn't believe their luck when they got £2m for him, £18m off City you got to be pissin me.

For what Blackburn want, we could take Owen and Crouch.

Do you know what that would be a cracking buy as they have the experience of playing with one another as well.

Personally my number one problem with paying so over the odds for RSC is if we dont pick up our form were heading for a relegation battle. And one of the teams that we could end up batteling it out with is blackburn, so why in the hell would you want to give one of our possible rivals a massive amount of cash which could help them out.

I have also said that.

listen up

we play 4-2-3-1

because rob, sweep and ireland are great players individually, but lethal in combination

this is what we will build the team around

of all the other players mentioned, only crotch can play alone, and even then it's a waste of time cos he'll just flick the ball on to people who arent there.

RSC is a big, tough hardworking centreforward who is comfortable on the ball, has a cool head, can finish with his head and feet, and most importantly hold the ball up and bring the magic trio into play. oh and hughes knows him inside out, and knows he will bust a gut for him.

18m is quite a lot, he's probably worth 12 normally, but add on another 2-3 cos its january, and 2-3 cos its us and it's about right, unfortunately.

If we are looking at spending circa £20m

And we want shut of Elano.....

Would it be worth a cheeky bid to Jose for Ibrahimovic?

£28m deal!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe.

What do you think? Think we'd stand a chance?

Seriously you do not give around £20 million to potential rivals wheather it be at the top of the table or the bottom of the table thats what i'm trying to get at.

i agree. he fits in with what we have and how we play and the importance of that cant be under-estimated.

For me cruz is no different from Benjani, a crock who we are
trying to sign on the basis that he played well for a bit.

We should tell fat sam to do one.

1. that 20m is going in the bank account of the jack walker trust. allardyce will be lucky to see over 5m of it.

2. look at it this way. we can use the player against all of our rivals. anyone bburn can buy, if he's a success, they will take points off other teams too. we have 20 rivals, not one. and if they keep RSC, who's to say he wouldnt be score loads of goals for them anyway.

I sort of get were you're coming from but it isnt that end of the pitch that concerns me as we've scored 38 goals in the league this season. So the strikers we've got must be doing somthing right, i'm not saying there great or out (how many games have we had were we havn't scored ?). Its just the other end of the pitch were we've been going wrong really badly that needs sorting out.

Think of it this way i would much much rather we get in a high quality defensive midfielder like Gareth Barry at villa for £30+ million (i'd be happy if we paid really silly money for him). And drop Kompany back to CB to give us that strong defensive spine to the team to stop us leaking goals. Than by wasting a load of money on another goal scorer when its clearly not scoring goals thats the problem with citys team.

the strikers have done almost nothing right and yet we've scored 38 goals. part of our trouble is that we don't pose a threat when we arent on the break, so the opposition can overwhelm our midfield. RSC would go someway to sorting that out.

i like barry an awful lot but he's going nowhere before the end of the season.

Again i get were you're coming from but IMO most of the goals we've conceded this season have been soft. And to be honest i think a lot of the pressure our team is under during a games is because we dont distribute the ball properly from the back. Near enough every time we get the ball at the back it gets hoofed up field straight to the opposition. That's why i think Kompany at CB who is a terrific passer of the ball would be brilliant for us if we got a proper top class midfield general in front of him (lol Barry for £40 to £50 million come on that's got to be better value for money than RSC for £20 mill).
