Santa Cruz

ney,£12 million is plenty, get kanoute from sevilla for a couple of million, 8 goals in 14 games, then in the summer blackburn will bite are hand off for £10 million.

bit over priced but i reckon pie head sam is holding out cos we have money, probly get podolski for around the same price.

I think this is the signing that could possibly seal the P45 for MH if it doesnt work out.

I reckon a deal is all but done, and Blackburn are just posturing for their fans, but if he doesnt make an impact at COMS or spends a load of time in the treatment room, this will be the transfer that comes back to bite Hughes in the arse and send him down the road.

On the other hand, it could go great and the lad could score 15 goals in the remainder of the season....

Its a gamble for Hughes at the price, but arent they all?

Santa Cruz has had one prolific season in his entire career. Much like Bianchi, only a bit older and more injury prone. Dunno about Podolski's availability or desire to come here (although he is behind Toni and Klose in the Bayern Munich pecking order), but would much prefer to see us go for him.

podolski, Defo against rsc, i would rather not be taken a ride by BOLTON!
BOLTON holding US to ransom...WTF
Keep him thats all i can say.
Lets not just buy for buying sake.

ney!!!

and ive seen in various other threads already the dreaded line...."he is great at holding the ball up!"......I am so sick of hearing this phrase in relation to our strikers.......what i want to hear is he has great pace and ability to beat defenders, to run in behind the defence, to create something out of nothing.......but no.....all our strikers are great at holding the ball up/great in the air.........woopee!!!!!! :-(

last season Santa Cruz was shit hot, can players just have one good season? I don't think so, Ive never seen him play before Blackburn but I think a full season of playing like he did shows you have the quality. Provided he stays fit and we get Petrov back and Shaunie on the right we can play him up on his own with Robinho(free role) and Superman behind him and Kompany holding. Then we need Richards to start playing like he did last season get another centre half next to him someone who's going to boss the defence, zab n bridge full backs, Hart in net still not 100% with joe but I think we should give him more time.
Sounds like a good team on paper, we'll have to wait n see.
