Satellite connectivity ( freesat ) lg smart tv ..

Due to different markets, a lot of TVs (or at least they used to) have connectors for both Freeview & Freesat, however there wasn't necessarily anything connected to them internally.
Are you saying there may not be freesat built in mate even though the connections for satellite are there on the tv ?

Sorry bud, I wasn't talking about yours specifically, you've got DVB-T2/T for Freeview and DVB-S2/S for Freesat built in as it seems to be a UK spec model. Some of the discount online companies used to (at least) source their stock from abroad and the specs won't necessarily be the same as UK stock.

I have Sky HD box & DVD player attached to my Samsung tv. Does anyone know if I can connect Sky HD into a Sony Bravia XR XR55A80J Tv?
My Samsung tv now has a scart connector and hdmi going from sky to the tv as well as all sorts of others going in/out and not sure if this Sony tv has a scart connector in order for me to use the sky box. Thanks

You'll just use an HDMI to HDMI cable (you should have one that came with the Sky HD box). It'll be an improvement on the SCART cable which, mechanically speaking at least, was a terrible idea. I presume the DVD player is HDMI out?

Yes thank you for getting back to me and it is, the tv already has a hdmi going through to the sky box so I have no idea why it also had a scart lead as well? I’m not technically minded at all. So will it need two hdmi’s then?

Ahh, I did wonder :)

You just need the one HDMI lead each from the Sky box and the DVD to the TV (your TV has 4 HDMI inputs). Unless you've got a surround sound or soundbox setup which may need different connections that's all you need. I've seen people connect every port together on computers & peripherals as well as TVs & STBs just because they're there and the cables were included ;)

Thanks for explaining.
