As others have said, the rags have had it easy this season, with only 40 games all season.

They - and Car-Wreck - will find it much tougher next season, when the fixtures, and injuries, pile up.

A little pain (for us) this season could mean a lot of hilarity next term, when he has to cope with two games/ week.

Here’s hoping, anyway.

Plus players tend to relax once they've got their choice of manager permanently.
Carrick has to give them what they want at the moment to keep them onside, once he has the job on a permanent basis he will harden up, more discipline, more training... this is when you'll see his true worth.
