I'd not do a banner cos that's something they'd do (did).

I'd prefer to have a chant or song. IMO it could be Glory Glory Man United with a few stick by your manager quotes etc and a lot of laughing. I'd love if we started it and other clubs followed. Make them hate their own moronic song.

I've been singing it in my head all day. Used to hate it now it makes my laugh.

As in the talksport version last night btw.
Glory Glory Man United,
as the scum go sliding down! down! down! ?

Glory Glory Man United
is a song we'll never hear again!?

Serious point.

There is of course huge satisfaction in seeing the rags stumbling along, after the years of shite they stuffed down our throats, and I for one will not begrudge any blues a single instance of returning the favour.

As regards tempting fate, counting your chickens, hubris, false dawns or any other metaphor for saying 'it's too soon to judge whether they are truly knackered or whether this is still teething troubles', one of the things we have learned from the last five years of shit coverage in the media is how things can develop a momentum of their own, and how a proposition which is initially questionable gets repeated so many times in so many quarters that it becomes received wisdom.

Let's just assume that what we say on this forum has some real influence in how the rags are perceived in the footballing world and see where it takes us for a moment. Suppose we had a choice: we can bite our tongue, keep our powder dry and not get too giddy about United's demise in case reports of it prove exaggerated. That way we don't look like a bunch of tossers if in fact the rags manage to turn it around.

Or, we can get behind this particular 'the rags are finished, let's all laugh at them' bandwagon and start pushing for all we are worth. Sure, we get to look like a bunch of cocks if the rags make the top 4 with ease, win the COC and have a good run in the CL. But what if constantly repeating the point again and again and again that the rags are finished and its time to laugh at them actually contributes towards their downwards trajectory? I would have thought a lot of blues would gladly run the risk of having some egg on their face for a chance to kill off the hated enemy for a long time to come.

So for what my opinion is worth, let's keep laughing at them. It is deeply satisfying to give them some comeback after what they heaped on us for years, and who knows? By making the point again and again and again it might just help to turn a possibility that it is the beginning of the end for them into a reality.

Yeah, but you've got to laugh though..

I think we are thinking a little small fry here. We arent the only fans in the country that hate the Rags. In fact, most fans of the top flight teams hate them. Why not extend our invitation to really stick the nail in the coffin to all fans. Get the whole footballing community behind a campaign to Save Our Dave. It is finally our chance to stick it to 'em and I, for one, am not going to stand around and miss this chance.

Come and join in guys and gals and invite all non Rags......

Re: Save Our Dave Campaign: SOD

How about we make a banner that reads...

"WE THE SUPPORTERS OF MAN CITY PROMISE NOT TO MAKE A BANNER THAT RIDICULES MANCHESTER UNITED AND THEIR CURRENT DEMISE".

Two birds with one stone..

we dont tempt fate whilst actually taking the piss..
