I fear it might be too late, chaps. I'm certainly not ITK, but it seems to me the gathering storm is gaining momentum with each passing day and we just have to accept that Maureen at the swamp is a very real possibility. For all Turtle's bluster, rousing speeches and extravagant gesticulations, and all that phoney 'we're-in-this-together' bovine excretia at the rags' Xmas party, I think he knows he's finished and he's trying to save grace. Hoping the media will see him as some kind of heroic warrior meeting a grisly end on the battlefield.
According to newspaper reports he's spent best part of 262 million on players since replacing Gollum, but they're in a worse position now than they were under the chosen one, and the football is a bloody sight worse too. So how is it feasible that he can continue with his shambolic 'philosophy' after the money he's spent? Put simply, he can't.
With the players he's had at his disposal since taking over at the swamp the Turtle should have ended 2015 with CL qualification wrapped up nicely, his team playing the type of swashbuckling, attacking football the fans love to see, and a cogent, rational long-term plan to take the club forward.
Instead they've spent about a quarter of a billion pounds on third-rate dross and they're playing the sort of football the Rose and Crown would dish up on a cold, blustery January morning.
I would truly love to see the Turtle see out his contract and watch those arrogant bastards deal with mid-table mediocrity for the foreseeable future, but I can't for the life of me see the Glazers ploughing yet MORE money into his non-existent 'filoshofee'. Maureen (unfortunately) will probably manage to salvage at least a bit of respectability for the rags to finish with, and then really go for it next season with probably a new squad at his disposal. It might only be a short-term solution, but for the vermin it's better than nothing.
