in the rules though i'm afraid. if you havent been signalled by the ref you can't go on.

even playing amatuer football i've seen plenty of instances of subs being booked when the second half kicks off as no one told the ref they were making a switch.

His mission was clearly to book as many of ours as possible
I didn't realise tackles were illegal in football but the ref put me right today.

Let Crouch off with the only bookable offence of the first half for taking out Silva 1/2 an hour after the ball had gone!!
