Savinho | City reject Spurs approach

Always comes across as a bit of a moody fucker on the pitch, someone will put a tackle in on him that he doesn’t like, he will square up to them and then go missing for the rest of the game.

He has some ability to go past players but when he has to provide that killer pass or finish, he fluffs his lines.
Agreed and we could be thinking of giving more minutes to Divine Musaka, very impressive cameo albeit weak opposition.

Have you actually seen Rodrygo play on a regular basis?

I’ll admit that I have not but he’s giving me serious Paul Pogba vibes. I mean this in the sense of Pogba at Juventus who everyone raved about as being some superstar due to his FIFA stats and YouTube clips. Look how he turned out in the PL.

His champions league form I know that's not to do with La Liga but his champions league form is impressive. 20 goals and 12 assists , 32 goal involvements in 52 games some even sub appearances.

Agree Rodrygo cost 80m and 300k a week no thanks his output is not worth that!

I agree but in a world where foden, cherki and doku are all unavailable then it will be Bernardo rw. (I doubt it will get to that stage mind!)
we must be moving to someone else in the market - rodrygo maybe . if we do sell savinho we shouldn't bend over for levy and spurs. 50m euros being reported - that's fuck all!

I don’t get the City don’t want to sell narrative. For instance we don’t want to sell Haaland and would reject all bids. It’s a negotiation tactic for sure.

He’ll go down as our second highest sale ever probably…

Im ok with this. Just dont think theres room for him AND Bobb, with Cherki and Foden able to play wide aswel.
With one league goal to his name last year, he didnt do enough to convince me that he will become our next Sterling or Mahrez.
I think there's a player in there for sure and I always feel a lot of players need a season under their belts to adapt to Pep's system but if the club are happy to let him go then I trust their judgement. Just don't let that **** Levy lowball us

Guys, chance we will go after another winger is practically nil

We need sell NHG for UCL registrations, Savio is most likely a 3rd choice winger, Mukasa or Echeverri would get his minutes then

most likely is that we swap for Archie Gray

Rodrygo league form isn't a upgrade, but his champions league form is, didn't realise how much of big game player he is. Scored against us , Atletico , Chelsea ,Bayern.and Liverpool. Also in Spain he's scored a total of 15 goals in all comps against Barca. So he is the definition of a big game player.

32 goal involvements in 52 games in the champions league.

If Savinho did go and we went for Rodrygo he's not really a downgrade.

Would a club like Spurs sell us one of their potentially top young players for around £50m-60m?

If not, why are City doing this?
The fact that we are prepared to have talks to try and agree a deal says it all really, It wouldn't fill Savinho with much confidence either knowing the club is happy to sit at the table and discuss your departure.

For examole would we sit at the table with Tottenham for Phil Foden, Omar Marmoush or Rayan Cherki, answer is no and we wouldn't even entertain it.

I agree with you though, Spurs and Levy wouldn't give us one of their young top talents absolutely no chance, so the only conclusion I can come to as to why we would do it is because we don't rate Savinho highly.

We have foden and cherki who can play there as well as Bobb. It's not like we are short of options in the position and most lineups in the wolves thread have either Bobb or cherki on the right wing, so I don't quite get the panic.

I think he got way too much stick for a 20 year old last season and his potential is pretty huge. However he does seem to sulk a bit and hasn't seemed totally happy and his final product clearly needs a lot of work.

My main concern is we are light on the left and he is the only one of the left winger options who has played there regularly. All though then again, Bobb played off the left in that Newcastle match where he scored...

North of 60 would not be the end of the world and most importantly;

With a foreign player leaving (in a position we are well stocked), that 60 mil can go towards what we already had set aside for a top class RB.

Ask yourself why does he fancy it? He played a lot of football for us last season! So tell me why does he fancy it?
World Cup year, probably wants to play his favoured left wing (no chance here with Doku and Marmoush), he’s not a guaranteed starter at City, and we’ve just brought in Cherki, Echeverri and Bobb has returned so his competition is stiff on the right.
