Savinho | City reject Spurs approach

And yet the reports are that the club and Pep (who you claim to trust) don't want to sell him unless he forces his way out...
Time will tell… I’d imagine given we haven’t completely ruled out a sale it’s up to Savinho and Spurs. If he stays great, if he goes we have others who want to be here and are better players.

If clubs were bidding for Haaland or Rodri we wouldn’t be letting the player decide if he wants to go or not, they’d be told to do one.

Whilst that’s the extreme with them being world class players, Sane is the closest example of one of our top performers wanting out and us selling. As we’ve seen numerous times if a player wants out or a player doesn’t want to come here to begin then it usually follows as pep doesn’t entertain players who’s heads out elsewhere

If I was a Spurs fan and knowing we had lost out on Eze I would be truly pissed off if I was told we were buying Savinho
as some form of sop to the fans to show we really mean business . Chalk and Cheese
Eze is 27, a goal every 4 and half games. 11 appearances for England.
A solid player but not top drawer.

Savinho may go on to be way better or not. It's a gamble.

This'll get done after the registration deadline at midday tomorrow, IMO.

Like that we get it done, but he can't play against us (no effing way we're turning down the best part of £70m).

Firstly, I wouldn’t sell to Levy. This is the **** who very publically “wouldn’t pick up the phone to City” regarding the Kane saga. For that alone I’d string him along all summer then fuck him off last minute.

Savinho is going to be an extremely good player. Once his decision making and finishing clicks he’ll be dynamite.

Unless we have someone equally as promising or a finished article type player lined up I’d keep him.
We do have someone equally as promising. Bobb.

They wouldn't be human if the thought hasn't crossed their minds.
Good business should always overrule personal grievances. Confuse the two and you make yourself transparent.

As TH posted,Mr K is a good business man who deals at Government level with unsavoury people who happen to need investment.

Your view is based more on impressions than facts.

Minutes per goal/assist in the league:

Rodrygo

22/23 140
23/24 156
24/25 176

That's worse than Doku.

Doku plays fewer minutes than Rodrygo, his league stats per 90 are better than Rodrygo's.

Savinho, aged 19, had 19 goals/assists in La Ligs. Rodrygo's record is 17...

If Pep wants Rodrygo, I don't mind at all. But on the face of it, it's not certain he is the improvement some expect.

If we move for Rodrygo it comes down to wages really. I can't see us offering anywhere near what he earns at the moment. Not as a basic wage. He's not significantly better than Savinho to deserve so much more than he earns for us.

But Savinho for £70m is crazy money and in my opinion a no brainer. Maybe he goes and has an outstanding season playing week in week out for Spurs. He's not playing week in week out for us, so I struggle to see him finding the level we expect. He's got a lot of talent, but I feel his physicality is an issue and I question whether he'll ever succeed in the PL where it's quicker and stronger than he can cope with at the moment. Having said that, I don't think Rodrygo is any more equipped to cope with it either. But his CL record is exceptional so you know you're going to get a good level of performance from him in Europe that he can take into the league.
