Savinho extends his contract to 2031

If you’re a flouncing pansy at 21 the odds are you’re gonna remain one. Skills can be developed with the passing of time but character is formed early on.
As others have said his play might improve as Doku's has improved but it's the diving and playacting that defines him at the moment. I think he doesn't understand why such antics don't go down well with people whose early experience of football was in the Joe Mercer era or even earlier. I'm sure Pep must be annoyed by it too. Probably won't happen but he should be fined a week's wages every time he dives. Or else get a slap from Andy Morrison, his choice. Thinking a bit more progressively he could watch some All Blacks rugby videos to see what knocks are like and how to handle them.

He got one goal in 30 odd league games as a forward, he did not do okay.

He's a winger not an out and out forward, his job is primarily to assist but yes goals are a bonus. Here's his stats for last season.

All told, Savinho went on to make 48 appearances across all competitions in his maiden season at the Etihad, weighing in with three goals and 13 assists along with helping City lift the 2024 Community Shield.

Do you know who's decision this was and why? To be fair to the lad he did okay last season in a poor, ageing and injury hit side.
I'm not seeing many, if any, signs of improvement lately though.
Seen it attributed to Soriano, but who knows?

He's soft and lazy, two things you just can't be in a Pep team.

Yet he keeps on selecting him, especially in a tough away game like Brentford. It's baffling but they must believe he's going to come good, there is no other reason because if he doesn't we're stuck paying his wages for the next six years.

Isn't it bizarre that Savinho is getting pushed and pushed, but you look at the chances McAtee and specifically Palmer got it's less than half the amount

So why didn't we take Spurs offer a few weeks ago?
Don't we want to take Spurs' money nowadays?

A lot more important to say Fuck off Spurs since you know Levy's offer was..

25 mil base
10 mil if he wins the league
15 mil if he wins champions league
20 mil if he wins ballon dor.

I mean seriously.. just fuck off Spurs!

Bloody hell... I hadn't heard that!

£25m max, and they'd probably want to pay that over five years.

Thanks for the info!

Just looked and he got 8 assists in the Premier League last season. That put him tenth on the list for most assists of all PL players. Two less than the likes of Bruno Fernandes and Saka.

You can't truthfully say that isn't ok for a 20 year old in his first season who doesn't speak English.

Yes he needs to score more, work harder and toughen up. But there's loads of potential there to work with.

The problem last season was he actually started quite well but he went off the boil towards the end of the season.

I think he has one assist in the last 12 games he has started or around that level.

He needs to improve. Doku has improved but he was equally as crap when he came on Saturday.

Wingers are always going to the off days. It’s the nature of the beast. However he needs more on it days now the club has shown faith in him.

He was literally injured what do people here expect ? Give him at least some weeks

Goals are no longer a bonus for wingers it’s a must to be a world class winger, footballs evolved. Sane , Sterling , Mane , Salah , Kvara , Vinicius Jr , Rodrygo , Mbappe, dembele, Saka , Son and Yildiz all world class or nearly world class wingers that provide both goals and assists. Even great wingers provide goals and assists Gnabry etc

To be a top winger you need to provide both but more and more it’s goals they are judged on as well , especially at the highest level. I do think the palmer situation has frightened the board. They are scared to let Savinho go because of that. But there are other wingers on the market that would be an upgrade to our attack.

The Savinho we’ve got now is shadow compared to the one at Girona I just don’t understand how he’s gone backwards, we are talking about a winger at Girona that was compared to Yamal at one point.

He’s running out of chances, he’ll be out the team completely once Bobb gets running and Marmoush and Cherki return to fitness

Exactly! Marmoush, Doku, Bobb and Cherki are all WAY more productive than Savinho and two of them 4 are now back from injury?!
