Received an email earlier today from British Gas saying they had paid me too much. Rang and spoke to 2 different agents who were adamant it was a scam email. I explained I did not believe this as it contained both my correct account details and my name and address. How could a scammer have possibly guessed those correctly. Also every phone contact on it led me directly to British Gas. After a 3rd phone call the agent confirmed it was genuine and referred to the government payments in March 23. They paid me 4 times and I repaid them back immediately.
