Anyone watching/watched any of these, mainly on BBC4?

Heard a lot about them so watched 3rd series of 'The Bridge' which was spell-binding and I got the first two series on DVD. Now watching the Danish one 'Follow The Money'. Not quite up to the standard of The Bridge but excellent nonetheless.

'The Killing' was another I think but not seen any of that yet.

The first couple of Arne Dahl were quite good and the film series 'Easy money' the same. The French series Spiral is pretty good and I have been watching Occupied recently. Hard to beat the first two series of the Bridge though.

I'll look for those.

But the other thing about Follow The Money is that the baddie has a company called East Manchester Invest and much of last night's episode was set in Abu Dhabi. Hhmm.

Formulaic TV dross about police and criminals does not become sophisticated just because it is in a foreign language and has subtitles.

In fact, seeing the dialogue written on the screen only highlights how dreadful and clichéd it is.

I've watched all of these in their original seasons on BBC4. For me, the English speaking remakes are not a patch on the originals with the exception of Wallander where I think the Branagh one is not better but as good as the originals. I've also watch Borgen which is a Danish political drama which I think is equally good.

I remember watching the first season of The Killing and commenting on Sara Lund's sweaters before I knew they had become a topic in their own right with the company that makes them selling loads on the back of the shows success.

Some truth in that. I'm currently half way through 'Trapped' (Icelandic crime drama), and although I'm quite enjoying it, it's definitely been overhyped.

The US version of the Killing (The Killing USA.....unsurprisingly) was pretty good, PB. 4 series of it too

100 code has just finished... Interesting, good, believable, worth a watch.

Bet you're a riot at parties urmston. I'm not a huge TV watcher normally but these are brilliantly written, acted, produced and are gripping watching.
