Scart to hdmi converter

Anyone got one/used one? Getting a new big telly and these were recommended to get the best out of your telly if you're on Virgin Media. Apparently they up the picture quality considerably. Just thought I'd ask before I fork out 60 odd quid.

Scart to HDMI will not improve the quality. You just need to get a Virgin box with HDMI already at the back (think they are called V+ or something...not sure though as i'm a Sky HD guy myself)

Scart to HDMI will do nothing. Scart is an analogue signal. HDMI is digital. You need to subscrbe to the HD content with virgin and just connect the box up with a straight HDMI lead. I presume the new boxes will have the output, although i'm a Sky person too so i'm just guessing.

Virgin signal isn't strong enough and if you subscribe to hd it's an extra £15 a month. These converters don't actually convert to HD quality but enhance the cable signal considerably to give you a miles better picture quality, essential on any tv over 37".

I've just switched from sky to virgin and I must say the picture quality shits all over sky.

On my Virgin Media Box I've changed the settings on the V Box Colour Output from Composite to RGB and find it a much better picture.
