The Night of the Demon.(1957)

"Its coming!...Its in the trees..." Black and white movie, a black magic film about passing the the "runes" to unsuspecting victims...then the demon comes after them. Creepy. Very creepy. Classic british horror film.

Yes, a classic - made a big impression on me when I first saw it on telly. Adapted from the M.R. James story 'Casting The Runes.'

This film shit the life out of me when i first saw it as a kid, classic british horror.

This and The house on haunted hill with roddy mcdowell i think.
A film called Trilogy of terror with Karen black where she buys some little demon and it comes to life in her flat!!
Scream scream scream again.
One where the guy is out jogging in london and he collapses and wakes up in hospital and every day he has an arm of a leg amputated.
Martin the vampire
Texas chainsaw massacre cos when he`s chopping that guy up and put the girl on the meat hook...proper awful and has probably happened knowing the yanks!!

The Rats, think it was a book written by James Herbert, still got a phobia about rats now. Also its not a film but the "tales of the unexpected" used to give me the creeps it was mainly the intro when they used to flash up images of all sorts of stuff.

My wife and her school pals were scared shitless of "A Nightmare on Elm St" mainly because they went to Elm St School on yep you've guessed it Elm St, the school has since changed it's name to Elm Wood due to the film

when i was 8 , jaws proper shit me up . I wasn't scared as much but it was the fact that i wouldn't go in the sea after it and still don't like going out very far these days . Also halloween , the original , the film was awful but the way they did it was genius the music is chilling and still scary . Todays stuff is just over hyped tbh except that paranormal activity , that shit me up a bit aswell

Salems Lot. Literally shat myself watching that.

I remember being pretty scared when I first watched it (I was in my early 20's) but I have an aversion to scary voices (the bloke in the rocking chair) so I put it down to that.

Watched it again a few years later with the girl who used to babysit for me and I can honestly say that until that night I have never seen anyone fly from the chair they are sitting in to the sofa across the room. Her feet didn't touch the floor. It was the prison scene (anyone who has seen it will know what I mean) that did it.

I knew it was coming and I was hysterical with laughter at her reaction.

The "Hounds of Love" by Kate Bush starts with those same words.
