1) It was ball to arm. - irrelevant, and debateable
2) VAR should only be used when there is a clear and obvious mistake. - there was, it hit arm, not body as ref first thought
3) The screen was fcuked, thus preventing the ref from reviewing his decision - maybe desirable, but not essential if studio review can be communicated to ref
4) The resulting yellow contributed unjustly towards a red - possibly, but he could have ended up with a straight red.

Any poster defending that is being contrary for the sake of it.

Sorry, just my opinion, not for sake of it, honest

MODS: Here’s hoping all the flappers who had us dead to rights losers in the Match day thread get a ban for the next Schalke Match Day thread! Some shocking comments from so-called fans on that thread!

I called 2-4 at 2-1 down, and almost...

When did so many “fans” turn into internet rags?
Agree. Name and shame the flappers...

Bit worried about KDB tonight I was hoping he was starting to find form again but he looked like he lacked match sharpness. Probably needs more time but we need the old Kev back asap

Was proud of the team tonight. We’ve been in that position before against Newcastle and Palace (penalties playing their part in all 3 cases) but tonight we showed our class.

I didn’t agree with the first pen or the yellow card. The BT pundits who have played the game all agreed that it wasn’t a penalty- even camel gob. Not sure about their resident referee saying that that he made a fist in preparation for the ball - he had milliseconds to react and he did all he could to move his arm out of the way

I hope opposing fans don’t visit our match thread. That was embarrassing
