Scholes betting charge

Apart from the bit where it says ‘made a profit’
He’s been gambling since he was 17. There used to be a bookies next to the pub we drank in and he’d be disappearing every 5 minutes to put a bet on. The only difference these days is the stake size.

Slightly off topic, but when I lived in Stoke, I was told of when Alan Hudson was with the Potters.

After training every day, he’d be in the pub, on the 'phone to the bookies every five minutes, "£50 on this horse; £200 on that one."

And that was over 45 years ago.

The mind boggles.
