I see the kids have been striking again today about climate change. Good for them, but a thought occurs. If we worked out how much mitigation would cost, would they be willing to pay the price? It is a British habit to demand stuff which would raise taxation to 60% but, when asked, agree that 40% is about the maximum level that is bearable. How do we persuade people to agree to pay for improvements?

If these kids decided they weren't going to school until this was sorted, the absent parents would quickly outweigh the cost of action. Someone needs to publicise this.

My 16 year old had no school today for the March to Parliament Buildings and the lazy fucker didn’t go.
I admire the enthusiasm of some of the youth of today but there’s huge apathy amongst them also towards anything that doesn’t involve taking their heads out of their smart phones.

Ella got the fudge off the local school, fair dues to her she got her mates involved and got us all listening to the kids to run the summer yanks (and the Italians and the Germans) on an education course about their carbon impact when they come here. Proud of her, she pissed off a load of the local business owners including some family, they've been told to take it up with an madrai.

Fair dues and as I've said, if they refused to go to school until it was sorted they'd shut the economy down and force us to change but it's up to us to teach them that.
