scone (as in ON) or scone (as in OWN)?

ScOWN. You don't say 'Bonn' instead of 'Bone' or 'Phonn' instead of 'Phone. So yeah, ScOWN. Although that looks like it should rhyme with 'Down'. ScOAN, maybe. Oh, whatever.

the missing last verse from that poem is

a cornish cream tea is for many not one

Scone rhymes with gone.

When I say it the 'c' sounds more like a 'g' anyway. Effectively I pronounce it 'sgone'.
