Why do reckon we have so many Scottish managers in the PL?

20 teams and we have

Bacon chops
Gollum
Wanking Kenny
Lambert
Rogers
Kean
Coyle

That's 35% of the teams. Is it because they are

(a) brilliant managers
(b) tight as a ducks arse and therefore favored by chairmen and owners
(c) driven, motivated people

It baffles me to be honest that a country that can't manage more than half a decent football team of its own has 7 managers infiltrating the English game.

Ever since The Purple-nosed Tosser did the business a good few Chairmen think that the road to success starts with employing someone of the same ilk.

Someone come on here and tell me that our Scots fans are not miserable graceless bastards. I'm beginning to think that the stereotypical Scot is a truism!

Do you have difficulty with accents?? Rodgers is from Northern Ireland.

If they're no good at their jobs they'll get the boot eventually which sort of answers your question. You'd be better off asking why there are so few decent English managers.

He's wrongly included Rodgers, but missed out McLeish.

Not only are they all Scots, but they are all from Glasgow (or Paisley, which is, AFAIK, virtually a suburb). Whatever the reason, that's quite remarkable.

Maybe it is because your English managers are shite for some reason.

No English Manager has won the Premiership since it's inception. You may have a point. I'm struggling to think of one who has finished 2nd.

The best most free flowing football manager of all time is English.

Harry Redknapp

Wenger's Arsenal played my favorite ever football in the Premiership. Followed by Bolton under Allardyce.

It's all Thatchers fault.......

There has always been a tradition of great Scottish managers winning titles with attractive attacking football: Matt Busby, Bill Shankly, Jock Stein (even though it was in Scotland he did win the European Cup with Celtic), and Alex Ferguson. Then Dalglish did well when he took over at Liverpool for the first time, winning the double. So you can see why people in charge will take the risk.

Perhaps a better question would be why is there only 4 English managers in the highest league in England? (20%)
Maybe it's due to the fact that the "greatest" English manager is a kick and rush merchant who as far as I can tell doesn't seem to believe in tactics (obviously I'm talking about good old 'Arry). Don't know the reason but I can't think of any good English managers off the top if my head.

i think scottish managers must just be better... which is ironic because their league players and clubs are just awful. even the lower english leagues are full of scottish managers
