39 - he was only 32 when he first signed for us on a 2 year loan. Just the 1 start, according to Wiki.

He's might just be the least ambitious footballer ever, but at least he never asked for a cake - so give him a statue.

I wouldnt say unambitous. He was coming to the end of his career, lumber around the championship or league 1 as first choice putting your body through the mill or work with the elite, get more money, best facilities in the world and prob save your body years of pain. Als be ready for potentially a decent opportunity(it didnt come but you never know). He made a good decision all round for me.

I think he has done a decent valuable role for us that 99percent of people dont realise.

It must have been his decision as it seems a waste of time and energy on our part to try fill this role while we have a million other things that needed doing. Easiest option would be give him another year and do it next year.

Good bloke and obviously very popular with the team and club. Does feel like its probably the right move with us obviously needing a shake up so badly

All the best to him

He was the footballing equivalent of the little donkeys/pony's that trainers put in a field with racehorses to keep them company.

Now I may well be talking nonsense here and it turns out he did do but I've always thought it was strange he didn't do his full coaching badges and become our official goalkeeper coach. Pretty sure he would have been almost doing the job anyway.

Maybe that's what he will do. Now he's got time on his hands

Is he going to the CWC for one last hurrah/piss-up with the lads?

His contract doesn't expire till after the group stage.

Sad news indeed, I liked seeing him on the VTs - I wish him well. As a 5' 11", bespectacled former playground standard GK, now retired with time on my hands, I'm perfect to take his place
