Scott Carson signs a new one year deal (Pg 11)

OK, he's 'a leader in the dressing room', but hugely disappointing if he'll be the third choice keeper, instead of giving a youngster a chance. Better to sign to him as a coach & register him as a player for emergency situations that meant none of the three were available.

What use is sticking a young lad as 3rd choice when he either needs to be playing with his age group or out on loan.

Pedigree, experience, good-guy.

Pedigree?
Experience?
Good guy, He may very well be a "good guy" but I like a bit more than he`s a good guy to convince me Scott Carson who`s played 1 more game than I have during is City career is worthy of a squad place.

If you could explain to or indeed can anyone explain to me the pedigree and experience bit please, because I`m at a loss to understand what Scott offers.

He has medals, including the PL and CL.

He has been in the game nearly 2 decades.

Hence, pedigree and experience. Good guy we already agree with.

I don't pick them btw, if it were uo to me the squad space would go to an outfield player. But that is my guess as to why the club chose to sign him.
