Parker is a good player, no doubt, when he is fit. We would be talking 10-15m to get him, and so I would hope Mancini already has someone in mind from elsewhere who is younger and just as talented.

Bordeaux didn't quality for the Europea league btw - Yoann Gourcuff anyone? May not have the tackling and harrying ability but surely the better prospect for us?

scott parker is an intelligent and influential midfielder who can turn in some very good performances. believe it or not, after the fullbacks, I think a proper defensive midfielder is essential. replace ndj with someone who can spray it about and pull the strings, and we'd be a different outfit.

but he is slow, SHORT, old and frequently a liability in defensive situations. he has never done it for england, never done it in europe, never done it for a top class team. he is a very good player compared to the dross around him but at the level we are going for he'd be a dreadful signing, just another decent individual who plays well but never really clicks as part of the team because his flaws become more noticeable amongst good players.
