Never got a sniff under Mancini and then just seemed to remain forever in the shadows.

When he was at Swansea he was definitely a very promising player.

Good to see him getting back to his best.

He'll never play in a champions league winning side nor will any top club be looking to sign him so for that reason alone he has no future here. Hopefully a few more will join him out the door and we then add real quality to the team not the last few transfer windows offerings.

So you don't believe the story that Mancini enquired about taking him to Inter Milan.

He was probably never going to be good enough for us but we chose to sign him and we should still have given him more of a chance IMO. In games we were comfortably winning or games the manager wasn't as arsed about. We've had other players who have played a lot more than he did and didn't look like they were good enough for us for a long period. Some prove themselves eventually, some don't. We have a great knack of giving ourselves no chance of getting reasonable fees for players we don't want.

Correct,only on bluemoon could people come out with players like him and Etherington being good enough.Never has been and never will be good enough for a top club challenging !
