Robbie parts company with Hearts.
Good luck for the future Robbie.
I thought sacking him was a bit harsh. I always thought he lacked a bit of class in post match interviews, particularly against us, you can hate a team as he obviously does with us, but being snidey or not acknowledging makes you look like a prick, he would never give any credit and sometimes, cup game at yours, talked utter pish. But he has done well imo. What’s your view on his tenure Benny.,

Sad.
Always liked him as a player and as a manager.
I would have probably gave him more time but most fans were wanting rid.
Got to the most important part of the season coming up with no manager.
No idea of who I would want.

At ours before the cup game I thought you were excellent. I agree this is a mental time to get rid. So much up for grabs re euro places. Be interesting to see who you get.

Disgraceful from Hearts today.
Pathetic.
Clark and Mackay the only two pass marks.
The rest should be ashamed of themselves.

Most underwhelming Derby win ever. Utter turgid from both teams. Just surprised we didn’t cock it up. Hopefully my eyes stop bleeding soon.

Felt sorry for the ball in that derby. Neither side had much in the way of skill in their respective midfields.

Be interesting to see how far up the table Goodwin can get Dundee United before the season closes.

Have East Fife ever scored 8 goals in a season game before?

Kilmarnock’s goal difference was already appalling and it‘s not improving this weekend. Going to serve as an extra point to those teams around them.

I would like to see them down. That pitch should not be allowed. Purely the pitch and the same goes for Livi. Get a real pitch or go.

I think the League would have to mandate such changes but it could also do more to facilitate better quality pitches throughout the pyramid. If a grass/hybrid pitch were made a requirement in the top division, it might demotivate teams from pushing on, and that’s the last thing needed. There might be more, but when this was written-hence leagues , the following all played on plastic pitches:
  • Livingston (Premiership)
  • Kilmarnock (Championship)
  • Hamilton (Championship)
  • Raith Rovers (Championship)
  • Queen of the South (Championship)
  • Falkirk (League One)
  • Clyde (League One)
  • Montrose (League One)
  • Cove Rangers (League One)
  • Alloa Athletic (League One)
  • Airdrieonians (League One)
  • Stenhousemuir (League Two)
  • Forfar Athletic (League Two)
  • Kelty Hearts (League Two)
  • Annan Athletic (League Two)

Maybe if folk supported their local side instead of the ugly sisters clubs would be able to afford a proper pitch. Livi can fuck off out of the league though, an irrelevant club.

But Livingston are presumably supported by their local community and people therein, no? Would seem harsh to punish them for doing what you advocate. Maybe Ferrari Thistle would rise from the embers…

If there were a more equitable distribution of money and more investment in pitch quality, then the standard of play might improve, too.

Watched a bit of the Celtic game yesterday and they were 4-0 up in about 20 mins.

Their fans going mad for it. It just seems to be the equivalent of cheering on a 25 year old bloke smashing the shit out of a 10 year old in a fight

Yeah, maybe start taking a part in supporting your team in the same numbers as when they get to Hampden Semi or Final and stop blaming us and our pals for all that is wrong. Football should be played on grass and if you can’t even get yourself a fucking pitch, then jog on.

If, as we always hear, they can’t afford it, well, don’t argue on one hand you don’t want to fill your ground with both Glasgow clubs in games where thousands of seats are empty and fail to use that income to have a pitch and improve your resources to buy and retain better players.

3,000 seats at £30 a pop for example x 4 games is £360k. That buys you a pitch, and from there on the money secures you to reach viability and an ability to improve. We win all these games anyway, other teams having more resources to have better players could change that. Empty stands is infantile in both financial and progressing as a team. So, get out and support your team, accept that having stands empty helps in keeping you where you are. Or don’t bother and stop moaning about gulfs when you put a knife to your own throats by refusing free money from us and Rangers supporters willing to pay you a considerable extra sum of cash each year. If your fans turn out, you have less to sell us, if they don’t you still maximise your revenue. If I was a chairman I would say, turn up or we sell seats.

Just the same as City smashing teams down there because you have infinite resources. Funny how you ignore that disparity as ok, but climb onto a high horse when it’s us levels above who we play. Double standards.

Hadn’t realised St.Johnstone had sacked their manager. Must be quite a strange feeling when you decide to sack your most successful ever manager and know that your replacement will automatically never do as well.

Here is the table of capacity and actual attendances.

Each team has at least 25% empty, most nearer 50%. How can any business refuse income, then on the other hand complain about any gulf in revenue? If you choose to take a financial blade to your own throats, that’s your choice, but save us the pish about disparity where you refuse as much as £500k a year in money. It doesn’t add up, literally.

What has plastic pitches got to do with the old firm support.
No way should any premier league club be allowed to have one of those types of pitches.
A myth that technology has moved on and that they are fit for use.

What's the reason for the low old firm average attendance.
