Gayfield gets a bad rep but was one of the more enjoyable away days during the wilderness years. There’s a wee pub called The Foundry Bar. Honestly it looks like a wee house and you feel as if your walking into someone’s front room but cracking wee place

Wasn’t so sold on Links Park. Watched the game from the side of the pitch that’s more a path than a terrace. I’m 6’3’’ and I still struggled to see much being three or four back. Cracking game right enough. It was something like 5-3 but in honesty Montrose deserved a point.

I get shivers remembering some of these places. Getting up at 5am on a Sunday morning to drive to Elgin for midday kick off to watch us struggle to a 1-0 victory.
Cheers, all noted, pub and the fact Im 6 2 so might need to think about it.

There’s a pub right next to turnstiles at Gayfield. Strange name like Tuechtie Neuk but if any kind of crowd it’ll be mobbed

It’s officially the coldest stadium in the UK lol. Was up there for a midweek fixture in the depths of winter. It was a tad cold!!

There’s a video on YouTube of Union Bears at Arbroath. I was there that day when they thought it was a good idea to let off flares and smoke bombs in ‘shed’ behind the goals. It was brutal

Wont tell the wife about being the coldest stadium in Britain lol.

Montrose beating St Mirren lol

Spartans beating The DABs

St Johnstone getting pumped as well

Especially pleased with those first two results. St Mirren fans paying extra to keep OF fans out!

DABs for just being DABs!!

Battle of the Saints for relegation along with Dundee and Ross County

Dundee Utd beat again.
I actually liked Goodwin at St Mirren. I said at the time it was utter madness for him to leave for Aberdeen. It has disaster written all over it.

From The Sheep to The Diet Sheep. I thought they were certainties to come straight back up but if the first two games are anything to go by it could be a long season for the DABs which I’ll take great pleasure in

There are local bowling clubs run better than Scottish Football. It’s laughable we have people like Doncaster and Mulraney in positions of power!

Worked similarly well at St Mirren.

Record attendances, improved atmosphere, better performances, butthurt OF fans, all good really.
Tynecastle as well.
Just Hibs now that get the full allocation.Hope they behave better this season than they have in the last couple.

The Scottish FA never learn.

Maybe TNT Sports fancy a go. Their paymaster seem hungry for TV rights at the moment.
There’s not really a market out there for he game up here. You have the bigotfest and then nothing. One of the best attended leagues in Europe per head of population but a limited Tv audience. Ross County v Livi isn’t exactly a ratings winner.

That’s simply not true!

Scottish football is shown around the World with decent viewing figures on various platforms (some not so legal)

A simple google search will show you just how many countries get far better TV deals than Scotland.

Those running the game are a fucking joke. There are far too many people , like yourself, who shrug their shoulders and say ‘fuck it. It is what it is’. It’s not good enough and we need change from top to bottom!

Last season we had Elgin away to Annan in a midweek game. That’s just crazy. We have 42 league clubs in a country of 5.5 million. Again that’s just mental!!

As for the attendance per head of population. Again just a meaningless stat as you have 60,000 at Parkhead every second week and 50,000 at Ibrox every second week. Outside of that the attendances are piss poor.

I could go on but with those running the game up here nothing will change. Mike Mulraney FFS

Every tv deal up here is catered for the old firm.
Always has been always will be.

The TV company that the authorities choose to deal with have made it clear they only want OF games. IMO we have held our game back to cater to this company while they pay us an utter pittance

OF fans have their away fixtures moved every second week. Very rarely we play an away fixture at 3pm on a Saturday! This includes our games through the lower leagues. That can’t be right

Nothing will change when you have one man from one club dictating how things have to be done. Stewart Gilmour said it when he left St Mirren. Stewart Milne said it when he left Aberdeen but still the other clubs are happy just to let things go along as they are.

I’d happily see the TV money deal more evenly distributed but with certain conditions.

Coverage should be spread more evenly among the clubs……Never happen

Less clubs so the remaining clubs get more…. Never happen

Only two divisions of 12 or 14 clubs….Never happen

The lower divisions regionalised and then play off system to get into Second division…Never happen.

Help for our clubs in European competition. Whatever they reasonably request should be at least considered. Rangers recent ‘success’ shows how financially beneficial it can be for other clubs….Never happen

The game is to tribal and that will never change and I’m not sure I’d want it to.

The clubs are never going to vote themselves into lower regional leagues. They are happy to hold back ambitious Junior clubs to retain their own league status.

Fife has Raith Rovers, Dunfermline, East Fife, Cowdenbeath, Kelty Hearts. Angus has Arbroath, Montrose, Brechin, Forfar.. just a small example of very small areas with a ridiculous amount of senior clubs. I realise these clubs are very important to those who follow them and the communities but the pittance we have is too thinly spread!! They will all find their level and the ambitious smaller clubs would have a clear pathway to get into top two divisions

Take our closest neighbours. If you take clubs per head of population then that would mean they would have 420 league clubs!!

As ridiculous as it is it’ll never change as the football public don’t want it to change but yep. It’s all the Old Firms fault
