Scottish Premiership Thread | 2025/26

Inevitable ending and heartbreak for Hearts. Always had a soft spot for them. I feel for their fans.

People may say it's a bad advert for Scottish football and maybe the ending has been for the outsiders, but the fact is Hearts got everyone talking and I think a lot of outsiders kept their eyes on the league because of it.

I find leagues that are dominated by one or two very boring, but if you're a fan of any of the two big Glasgow teams that will not bother you one bit!!

yeah ,usuually don´t care about that league ,but when i heared that there was a chance after 41 years for a third team to win the title i kept an eye on them. Even my Estonian sporting channel showed some of those games and todays game.

My goodness. Do you really lack basic reading comprehension? Read what I said again ffs. I specifically pointed out that it WOULDN'T get immediate massive interest over night, but a gradual one IF teams like Hearts kept producing a challenge. I centered my enitre point around it from the beginning and very clearly so, whereas you said it would get NO increase in interest whatsoever if hearts won. How on earth do you keep missing the point here?

Where did I say a hearts win would instantly save Scottish football? Please point me to it. But you'll not find it. What you will find, is me stating multiple times that a win today would generate some increase in interest going into next season, but for that interest to be maintained and even increase further, there will need to be another challenge from non old firm teams, and so on beyond that season too.

You even acknowledge the lack of interest in Scottish football is largely due to the same 2 teams winning it year in year out. Therefore you're acknowledging that the solution is that other teams need to put in consistent title challenges and winning. So wtf are even arguing about? What is there to argue about?

And dont repeat "my point is hearts winning wouldn't cause a massive increase for the league" NO ONE said that to begin with. I didnt say that to begin with.

I even said a gradual one, and that that wouldn't be the case either.

I walked into a pub (the Shoreline) in Stranraer to watch some of it and get our dinner with Mrs K.
As we sat Hearts scored, Mrs K said "yes" but then noted that nobody else cheered.
A minute later then pub went mental as Celtic scored.
I said there's your answer love.
The pub was full of hoops plus me in my City top

Seems you were unlucky as most in Stranraer / Port Patrick are Rangers orientated but I suppose they were hiding or out shopping with their Mrs
 
Hearts will be back
If they keep McInnes and get their transfers right they could win it next year.
Celtic have a lot of players leaving and if recent signings are anything to go by, they probably won't be sufficiently replaced
 
See their ‘fans’ have not been content with assaulting Hearts players and staff after the game they’re now going for the police. Seems the police were trying to attend a medical emergency amid the Celtic celebrations but had to retreat due to bricks and bottles being thrown. Stay classy Celtic…

Deserves a full boycott that league. It’s a fucking farce ran by knuckle dragging cheats, with knuckle draggers in the stands.

They’re actually fixing it so Celtic can just win it every season.

I agree for the good of Scottish football it would of been great for Hearts to win it, but to put the whole standard of Scottish football down is wrong.
VAR has polluted it both sides of the border.
Manipulation being the common denominator

Agree on both counts. Thats obvious, england is bigger and the money in football there is astronomical compared to scotland.

It sure seems to be relevant to many on here this week fuming at Celtic's latest title win.....

It's just a shit boring league that the 2 Glasgow clubs will forever dominate. And it also seems to be corrupt to keep the 2 Glasgow teams winning.
 
A shame for Hearts, but what a story, the team that led the league for most of the season lose out on the last day to serial winners. Be nice to have a repeat of that
