Sounds like the sort of thing that would be said jokingly, tongue in cheek. I'm sure he isn't really sat there worrying whether their friendship will survive.

What Liverpool need to realise is that they need a serious amount of rebuilding before they can make any kind of run at the title, or be serious Champion's League qualifying contenders. They have fallen behinf City and Spurs at this point and, whilst those two clueless Yanks are in charge, they will have very limited finances to compete. The best thing that could happen to Liverpool is the exit of Torres and Gerrard, the later before his market value starts to nosedive, he's 30 now so he'll never be worth more than he currently is. They need to finance from those two sales to rebuild the entire side, there are very few of their "other" players who are of the required calibre (Reina and Mascherano are probably the only ones).

I agree. He's a safe pair of hands for a couple of years, but the dippers problems will take longer than that to fix.
