Screen brightness

My little fella has just been watching a film on my laptop I have now noticed the screen is dim as in when you unplug the battery. Plugging the battery in has no effect any ideas guys, thanks in advance.

Control Panel> appearance and personalization> display.

Left hand window "adjust brightness".

Or go via power options and set it :)
