had a young lad (13 yrs old) knock on my door last night about 7.30, he was on his way to football practice when he was mugged for his phone outside my house.
I managed to get a decent description of the lads (both about 18-20) and my missus calmed the lad down and walked him back to his parents whilst i gave chase.
I jumped in my motor and drove around the estate, passed the lads on the other side of the estate walking down road playing with the phone. I waited at the road junction for them to cross the road, then jumped out of the car and grabbed one of the scrotes. I saw him put the phone in his pocket, but he kept denying it, his mate starts to do a runner and then the lad i had hold of breaks free too.
They ran back towards the pub on the estate and ran behind some garages at the back, by this time due to the commotion, several residents had come out of their houses and we managed to corner the scrotes, they were lay on top of the garage roof. They had two choices, either come towards me and several residents or jump off garages into beer garden of pub, so i went round to the beer garden and told everyone to keep an eye out.
Myself, the lads mum, and several residents had all rang the police to say we had them cornered......it took the police 20mins to get there. Just as the dibble arrive, the scrotes jump down into beer garden and run across beer garden before jumping over the fence. Several punters from the beer garden gave chase along with the police, but the scrotes got away through back gardens.
Anyways, this morning i find out through neighbours that both lads live on the estate, one lives on the next road to the lad he mugged.
I detest things like this, they would have probably got £40 for the lads £300 phone, but its the way they left the young lad that annoyed me more. The poor lad probably wont sleep for days and be up at the window every sound he hears, not to mention they will probably, if not definitely bump into this lad again as they live so close.
Would you leave it for the dibble to sort or teach them a lesson?
