I saw that, and your point is nearly always valid but in the Arsenal game yesterday it was actually the linesman who gave West Ham the penalty, couldn't believe my eyes.

Liverpool have much easier games than Spurs in the run in and will more than likely overtake them.
Also, of course 5th and 6th place matter. If we don't get 4th we still want to finish as high as possible, especially considering that it may only be 5th place that gets a Europa League place, no European football at all next season would be a disaster.
