Season ticket renewal, when?

100% agree with your statement.
My main gripe at the time was that we were told that we needed upto date smart phones which were NFC compatible. Turns out that any smartphone would do the job,it didn't need to be NFC compatible.
I ended up taking the wife's phone for the first couple of games as hers was NFC compatible and my wasn't. (Even though it was only 6 months old then).
After I realized that the QR code in my Google wallet could be scanned at the electronic reader at each turnstile,I reverted back to my own smartphone and all's well that ends well.
Just very poor communication from the club and their IT experts.

@Prestwich_Blue those who bought season tickets for the first time last year were told there was no guarantee that they would be offered the option to renew due to the deferred season tickets. Is this still the case?

I wish they'd done a one year opt out with a small charge for a card, just to take the edge off it. But definitely one of those things that in five years we will wonder what all the fuss was about. 90% of gigs I go to our digital now, and I was fuming the other day because I'd forgotten a paper ticket and had to grab an Uber home.

I deferred for this season.... first without one since 1983. Renewal totally depends on if they get silly with prices.

That depends on whether the people who deferred renew or not. I'll check with them.

Update: I've checked with some of my CM colleagues and we don't think any deferred season tickets were offered as single-season season tickets. We think they were all sold on a match-by-match basis. But I'll confirm with the club.

My NFC on my phone can pay for drinks and food anywhere contactless, even inside and around the ground.
Only one place it doesn't work is at the turnstiles and I have to scan the barcode instead !

I do miss the renewal tin though.

and i miss the physical card as a memento of the season.
saved all my sons since he was 3,from now on its an image within an app,that will dissapear and be replaced with a new one season after season.

Yes that was poor. I had an NFC phone that wouldn’t work at the turnstiles with that tech but then the bar code was placed in such a way on screen that it couldn’t go deep enough into the slot to be read by the scanner, it was most infuriating. Had to replace my phone in the end.

They absolutely shouldnt increase prices. The money sloshing about football! Be a MASSIVE thing for the club to reduce prices as a nod to our working class fan base.

When you get to my age you are not paying a lot to renew. My breaking point will eventually be the bloody awful Metrolink.
