The advantage to the club is that it takes a deposit from the supporter which it refunds a percentage of if the supporter buys a ticket a minimum of three weeks before a game. If the FG fan doesn't purchase, the club has three weeks to sell the ticket and it retains that percentage of the deposit

At some point in the future, most people's circumstances will change and they will be unable to meet these T & C's. What the club fail to realise or care about is that the different generations of supporters whom this will affect are the soul of the club. If you wipe them away now, then whenever hard or less successful times return (and they most certainly will at some point), you will have nothing. Sadly, the club are unable to see the long term value in preserving a strong relationship with the different generations of supporters. They have been seduced by the bean counters and have sold the club's soul to the devil.

I haven't been to a single game because of this change of circumstance, yet ALL 19 games have been transferred, exchanged or even given away, yet I know that next season, this 10 game personal policy, effectively gives them grounds to remove my full seasoncard and force me on to some part ticket gimmick. Where was the urgency to introduce such methodologies when we were handing over our money to watch Alan Ball or Stuart Pearce's teams?The club has got precisely zero to gain by forcing a season ticket holder who goes to every game, which thousands do, on to flexi.
In fact, it probably costs them in the extra admin work of having them apply for every game.
Nonsense to suggest that MOST won’t be able to meet the criteria at some point also. Everyone I know who’s got a ST and thousands that I don’t know, go to every, or virtually every game. And have done for decades.
In fact I’ve never known a single ST who has ever missed anything like 50% of games in a season. Although I’m not denying the exist.

The reality is, and you can package this up how you like, this is a strategic decision to remove old fruit, in favour of fruit with more money to squeeze.

It's shit mate.I’ve spoken to the club about my 24 year son who’s had a season ticket next to me since he was 5. He’s a shift worker, 12hr days, 12 hrs nights, 4 on, 4 off. This year he attended 13 games and every game he missed was transferred to the same family member. Never an empty seat. I just wanted to check that if he couldn’t make 10, he wouldn’t lose his season ticket. They said they couldn’t make shift work an exemption and they suggested he change to a flexi gold. I really don’t understand why they’re being so pedantic. Once the fixtures are out he could look at his shift schedule and take a bit of leave. But then the games move!
You can put download a season ticket onto 2 different phones. Just download it onto the phone of the family member in your son’s absence. Yes. If this was all about taking season tickets off those who can’t be arsed attending, to give you those who’ve been waiting years, it would make sense. But that’s not what’s happening. If my son gives up his ticket, you can bet your life I’ll end up with a different person next to me every game. Not necessarily supporting city.It's shit mate.
My lad took a year out this season as he's got a new baby & lives in Oxfordshire and does shifts/periods abroad with the RAF. Every ticket has been used by someone else....I've even taken Mrs Moon when we couldn't shift it.
He's not renewed for next season (had a ST since David James playing up front) as there's no way he'll manage 10 games.
There's also a lot like myself, finished work, travel 70 miles each way to games and would normally attend all home games but, then holidays, funerals, weddings etc can get in the way....I've missed 3 games this season, could have been more but as luck would have it booking holidays around international breaks meant on overlaps we were away.
Next season I could be 5 games down already with holidays already booked and a wedding to go to. A bit of ill heath or not fancying driving over the tops in the middle of winter and I could be borderline.
If the club were being genuine the alternative view is that not using a ST yourself is denying someone desperate for one (yes it's always our fault) and kicking it along the road isn't helping those wanting to get one but, we all know it's nothing to do with that.
