Seasonally Affective Disorder (SAD)

I used to get SAD really bad over twenty years ago, had to go to see my doctor. He said i was suffering from SAD which I'd never heard of. He recommended i try and get off doing 12 hour night shifts in a factory. I did and didn't get it again until 4 years back. Last winter I felt fine. I think the vitamin D definitely help me raised my serotonin level.

A lot of people take Ashwagandha too and that apparently helps.

I get it in the summer not winter , too light , too noisy , too many people , dont like it
Exactly how I feel. The warmer it gets, the more people act like dicks. I enjoy being away somewhere warm in the summer, but living and working day-to-day in summer makes me feel down sometimes.

There’s a lot to be said for autumn and winter. I accept that most people feel exactly the opposite though!

Try St. John's Wort from a health food shop or buy it online. I have used it for years. I take it from November until the end of March. It's a natural remedy based on the St. John's Wort plant. It takes a couple of weeks to start taking effect but in my opinion it definitely helps me to deal with SAD.

Word of warning - if anyone takes StJohns Wort - don’t take it with anything else.

These miserable cold damp days are really getting to me. I'll be glad when spring comes and the days get longer.
That’s the reason we celebrate Christmas when we do.

For thousands of years, we’ve had festivals celebrating the end of the shortest days to commemorate the new year and the coming of Spring which brings longer and warmer days.

The evenings have been getting lighter since 10th of December. And next Wednesday is the latest Sunrise of the year, from then on the mornings will also be getting lighter.
