I find it pretty hilarious that a lot of people are wary of using one of the most securely encrypted systems ever created, yet are happy carrying cash around.

It's just people being forced out of their comfort zones. Happens to us all from time to time. I didn't have Google Pay until this forced me to do so. Now I've got debit card, credit card, loyalty card on it and happily using it. (Everything except the SC ironically enough). In fact, now I wouldn't be without it. Strange the way things work out - if I didn't have a SC I wouldnt have this handy payment method.

I used to have loyalty cards etc on my Iphone then after an update they all disappeared.

If this happens to stuff in your wallet can it be put back?

Like getting dipped by Apple

PB my phone is exactly the same. Just slip the card out and show it to the ‘reader’ thingymabob and Bob’s your uncle all done no hassle. :-)

Basically it doesn't use the details of the card you use to sign up with. When you register the card it creates device specific account number and then encrypts that. Every time you make a transaction it uses this encrypted data along with a security code that changes with every transaction.

People have a miss conception its not safe when it is in fact one of the most secure payment methods around

I feel very secure when people pay me in cash.
