Seasoncard Renewals | Slight Price Increase

The club will notice it though. Without the small increases every year, it would have made a loss, not a small profit.

Prices are increasing everywhere and companies which make huge profits are still putting their prices up. I'm not sure why people expect a clubs like City, with a small profit, to be any different. The club's costs will be increasing significantly too.

I am certainly not in favour of price rises and wish we had been able to freeze prices but I can understand why the club increases them by a small amount each season.

Sadly some people will be priced out but has always been the case no matter what the prices are set at.
We made a profit of £2.4m last year and the increases are accounting for what like £800k, a million? Even if that is the difference between a profit or not, the club are selling themselves for sponsorship to anyone who asks, they can make the difference there. How many saleable players do we have? They could make the difference there. They could cock about with the TV money again. Or they could just swallow a small loss!

It's clearly not going to ruin everything if the club makes a 5 or 6 figure loss, hell we spent years defending worse as part of the plan. Why is the acceptable option to fellow fans to leave the most loyal fans we have out to dry?

I'm sure we're already trying to get as much money out of sponsorship as we can and still have a minor profit. Without the increases over the last years, it would have been a loss. We'll also have increasing costs too this and next year.

As I said, I wish that they would have frozen the prices but I understand from a business point of view why they have repeatedly gone for small increases.

the last point is the problem. If you look at our fanbase just from a business point (pure greed) of view we may as well make the entire ground corporate. You can’t just look at it like that. You have to take into account our fanbase, economic situation and the long term effect pricing out your own fans will have.

it’s short term greed for a tiny amount of money. Long term this will damage us as the next generation of fans won’t be going to games.

it’s already having an effect. We struggle to sell out semi finals, cup games and lots of prem games aren’t full…. If you only look at it in terms of money I guess you wouldn’t care about that.

these price increases wouldn’t cover most of one of our players wages. They’re completely wrong and it’s clear the club couldn’t care less about the fans that make it what it is.

don’t see how you defend it. There’s literally stories on here of die hard fans who’ve gone for 40 years now unable to go. It’s plain wrong

I deferred last season for various reasons but will be renewing mine and my son's.

You can have my season tickets for you and your mum to sit together, whenever I can't go or be arsed, if you would like that?

Probably six or seven of those each season.

I can also sort you out with IPTV for £70 if that's something you can stretch to, it really does pay for itself and you get to watch City, home and away, plus everything your son will love in terms of Disney plus, Netflix, Amazon, prime, all the Sky channels, films, etc.

I will wire you the £70 if needs be and also have a brand new Amazon 4K firestick to set it up with, which I could mail you.

Sorry for your dilemma but the offer is genuinely there and just a token gesture.

Just PM me if that's something you would like.

Best wishes to your family and mum.
Hats off mate. Fantastic gesture

Good for you, not all rises were the same. Shockingly, your experience is not universal.

What I'm talking about is the fact we've had years of rises (I've seen 6 of the last 8, and 9 of the last 10 touted separately) and it's always dismissed with the same bollocks: "ah, it's only a few quid, it's still great value".

It adds up and whether it's £25 too much in one season or £200/300 too much in a decade, people get priced out. End of the day we're not talking about money that's keeping us in business or making sure we're competitive, we're talking about a profit margin for the likes of Ferran Soriano. If you're fine with that, you do you, but know where you stand - it's not with your fellow Blues.
He's well suss anyway boss

Thanks for the correct information.
It's doesn't surprise me that a member of our ticket office staff was just making it up as she went along. ( not the first time this season) cheers blue CTID
There isn't a waiting list as such. A waiting list, for me, means the person waiting longest gets first crack.

Currently any Cityzens Matchday Member can apply for any available season tickets in the relevant window. If you bought membership today, you'd have just as much chance of getting a season ticket as someone who's had membership for a few years. And not everyone who has Matchday membership wants a season ticket. So we don't have a season ticket waiting list.

I will keep a eye out for the earliest opportunity to request one.
Thanks for the update. CTID

Mute point, but nevertheless.

If money is so tight at City that they have to claw back £800k-£1mill through a season ticket price rise every season, why did City let Garcia sign for Barcelona on a free when City could have easily got £10mill(10 season ticket price rises) for him, if not more?

Don't say because we needed him, as he wasn't included in all the remaining games at City, and when he did play, he was a disaster. As for Barcelona being skint, they could have afforded £10mill if not more.

It amazes me how City constantly write off £10'smill when selling a player or allowing them to leave on a free, yet raise season ticket prices every season to claw back a paltry £800K-£1mill.

Maybe City should cut their cloth accordingly and find savings throughout the club on unnecessary and wasteful expenditure every season, instead of passing £800k-£1mill on to City's financially hard pressed working class fan base.
Tbf they actually offered us about €2m up front and then tiny instalments based on significant numbers of appearances. City fucked them off to keep them waiting, keep them honest and stop them trying it on ever again.
We would never have got the price we did for Torres if we had rolled over for their lowball tactics with Garcia

If any club can absorb increasing costs, it ours.
Certainly far more than us plebs can in the current cost of living crisis ...
